Engagement Story Contest Winner

Congratulations to Tony and Michelle!

We look forward to working with you on your wedding day!

Their story:
"My fiance Tony and I have known each other since high school. He was 4 years older than me so we did not hang out. I was friends with his brother and just knew Tony as "that guy who had a car and would sometimes give me a ride home." After school, I did not see him or his brother for many years. I often drove past their family business and wondered how they were doing. One day as I was driving, I looked over and saw Tony driving his sports car. My heart fluttered. A few months later, I was sitting in a bar and Tony walked in with several friends. We began talking and have been together since that night. Our first date was sledding after drinks! We had a blast.
His family is from Greece and he has wanted to take me for the duration of our relationship. We were never able to because of money and limited time. Finally after 6 1/2 years, we went to Greece this summer. We planned a trip to Santorini for our first week. Our last night, Tony (who is normally passive) was insistent that we walk down to the cliff to watch the sun set over the ocean and the volcano. I agreed so we started getting ready. Tony drank 3 glasses of wine in a short period of time and I thought he was really getting into the spirit of the island. We walked down the path and watched the most amazing sunset. Directly afterwards, Tony handed the video camera to a couple and said something in Greek. I thought he was asking them to take our picture. I was wrong! He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of everyone! It was the perfect proposal and he managed to have it on video.
We both called our families and they were so excited. I had to laugh at Tony because he had my ring wrapped in toilet paper in his pocket during our walk because the box was too bulky. We had taken a ferry out to Santorini and at every stop he would rush to watch our luggage. Later I found out he wanted to make sure no one took it since the ring was in his luggage.
Tony picked the ring out without any input from me. I was so excited that everything was perfect! The ring is gorgeous, the setting was amazing- I could not have pictured a better experience!"
